From 2023 Nepal Retreat

Words from previous retreat goers:

Where to start?! The Nepal yoga retreat was  such a special and unforgettable experience.

The resort in the mountains had the most adorable wooden cottages that we stayed in and beginning the day with yoga in the sunlight shala was an absolute joy! Don’t even get me started on the retreat food either, it was sooo so good!

There was a great balance between day activities and yoga practise. We visited stupas, monasteries and saw endless prayer flags! Visiting Kopan Monastery was the perfect ending. You feel like you have cultivated so much for compassion for the world and yourself.

It’s obvious that Sanjay put a lot of heart and soul into planning this retreat, I would 100% recommend it and love to go again one day!

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip.

We were treated to daily yoga practice, Buddhist teachings, mantra & meditation, day trips to stupas, meeting the locals, great accommodation, food & coffee (and so much more).

I think my favourite part was sharing it with the beautiful souls who made up our group.  I learned so much from this trip in such a short space of time and have gained an enormous appreciation for Nepal, its people and their history.

I would do it all over again in a heart beat! Thank you Sanjay for organising absolutely everything including all the little touches that go unnoticed – we all noticed and we are all so very grateful.

Sanjay is a wonderful guide and knows the ins and outs of the history, Buddhist sites and local culture.

The yoga is first class! A good physical morning session and a yin afternoon session. We practiced in a wonderful hall with a presence that reflects the surrounding beauty of trees and mountains. Some mornings the Himalayas would greet us with their enormous peeks in the distance.

There is an abundance of high quality food and great service throughout the entire trip, especially at the resort. We also had plenty of time to explore the surrounding villages and take day trips to marvellous Buddhist sites.

If you love yoga, travel and being immersed in a developing culture then take the leap and yoga in Nepal.

Namo Buddha

This is one of the three main stupas of the Kathmandu valley, a very sacred place.

nepal yoga retreat

Here we will spend time walking around the stupa, performing virtuous action through body, speech and mind (and a little shopping!)

Each location has some spiritual meaning and benefit.

Our focus will be to develop an inner awareness of compassion and kindness towards ourselves and others. Through this practice we will come to know more happiness and ease in life.

Be prepared to meditate mindfully and allow the beauty of these places to infuse inspiration to propel you further on your yogic journey.

This retreat has a strong spiritual focus but rest assured, you will still have the opportunity to relax, explore, and buy those perfect little gifts for yourself and others. nepal yoga retreat

Our Practice

nepal yoga retreat

Most mornings will begin with 60-75 minute vinyasa (flow) practice to get the body moving and the mind awake and ready for the day.

In the afternoons we will practice a lighter yin class.

nepal yoga retreat

Our meditation sessions will follow the teachings on compassion and kindness, which come form the Mahayana Buddhist school of thought training. These will be in the morning and evenings.

The mantras we will practice will be Tibetan Buddhist mantras. We will practice these at the Resort and then use these when we go to visit holy places as part of our practice.
