Why I love what I do

To me, Yoga truly is MAGIC! I have never not felt rejuvenated and grounded after a yoga class, therefore I wish to give everyone else an opportunity to feel this same way.

After practising yoga, I have seen an improvement in my body’s strength and flexibility, along with body and breath awareness. Yoga has also inspired me to live a more compassionate life, as I’ve found that through yoga you are showing your mind, body and soul, LOVE. And when you can love yourself, you can love others and all things more deeply. I believe that through life we must never stop learning. Yoga has so much to teach us – on the mat and beyond.

Biography

In 2015 Jade began practising yoga and after her first class, she immediately thought to herself, “Why hadn’t I practised this earlier?!”. As she flowed through different poses, she felt it almost come naturally and afterwards would be feeling more connected to her breath and body. Since then she has not stopped and her passion for yoga is growing more each day.

During a trip to Bali, she visited different Yoga studios and realised just how diverse yoga can be and was surprised at how the liberating feeling you create during yoga, can be felt absolutely anywhere! Yoga was not done with its surprises for Jade though… once she became a member at Phoenix, Jade discovered Ashtanga yoga and completely fell in love with it. She loved that the set sequence contained a variety of poses, built up stamina and raised the body heat. She is still a dedicated Ashtanga yogi today, practising further variations of poses and keeping a steady breath.

In early 2020, Jade travelled to Rishikesh, India – the “Yoga Capital of the World” and completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She was ready to come back to teach in Melbourne until Corona Virus struck, banning gatherings of people and closing down all yoga studios. She overcame this by holding a series of live-streaming classes and created short yoga videos for the Primary School she works at to coincide with the Physical Education and Well-being & Mindfulness programs. She is keen and ready to get back into the studio, this time not only to practise for herself, but to assist, teach and share with others.
