Developing the Kind Heart
buddhist tantra melbourne
Buddhist Tantra is a meditative ‘fast track’ for burning through delusions of the mind and developing compassion.
Tantric practice involves motivational prayers, visualisation, mantra and concludes with dedications.
Each practice will be developed over 6 weeks, with the 35 Confession Buddhas commencing all.
We will practice at a level that does not require a formal initiation, under the guidance of Sanjay. Sanjay has formal initiation into each and has practiced them for many years.
Next Practice:
35 Confession Buddhas & Ever Flowing Nectar of Bodhicitta
4 week course
Starts Wednesday 15 February 7:30pm – 8:30pm

35 Confession Buddhas
Prostrations to the thirty-five Confession Buddhas with recitation of the Bodhisattva’s Confession of Moral Downfalls in one of the most powerful methods available to purify harmful actions we have done in the past. By doing this practice mindfully, we prevent unwanted suffering from occurring in the future. In addition, this practice clears away obstacles to our practice and opens the mind to gain realisations on the path. buddhist tantra melbourne

4 Arm Chenrezig
This manifestation of Chenrezig is the radiant white Buddha form which represents purity and power of the enlightened mind’s loving kindness and compassion.
The practice develops our ability to have an open heart through meditation on Chenrezig. The mantra of Chenrezig is the most widely recited mantra in Tibetan Buddhism and has great power for developing a good heart, liberating all beings from suffering. buddhist tantra melbourne

Ever Flowing Nectar of Bodhicitta
Annihilating the demon of the Self-Cherishing mind.
This practice is based on the short text Eight Verses of Thought Transformation, which contains the entire technique for transforming the mind into relative bodhichitta (i.e., the wish to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings) and absolute bodhichitta (i.e., the wisdom realising emptiness). buddhist tantra melbourne

Medicine Buddha
The seven Medicine Buddhas, attainers of bliss, strongly prayed for the temporal and ultimate happiness of yourself and all sentient beings. They vowed that their prayers would be actualised during these degenerate times when the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha are in decline.
This practice is especially beneficial if you are helping others, closing the door to rebirth in the suffering lower realms and assisting to eradicate physical disease and mental afflictions. buddhist tantra melbourne

Green Tara
Arya Tara is the female one who release (liberates), a manifestation of all the buddhas’ holy actions of body, speech and mind. She can help prevent hindrances and help to generate quickly the steps of the path to enlightenment. From her side there is nothing left to be released as she has removed every single obscuration and received enlightenment ages ago by following the path. She wished to receive enlightenment in a female body and in that way to benefit sentient beings. We are the object whom she helps.
Tara saves us from the eight dangers of the disturbed and unsubdued mind and its karmic actions, the causes of suffering. buddhist tantra melbourne

Vajrasattva
Vajrasatta helps to purifying negative karma collected since beginningless rebirths and collect extensive merits, allowing you to have realisations on the path to enlightenment and for your mind to change.
As a Mahayana practice, it is undertaken with a bodhichitta aim to purify all our karma in order to reach enlightenment as quickly as possible so as to be best able to help all limited beings (sentient beings). buddhist tantra melbourne

Shakyamuni Buddha
Lama Zopa Rinpoche compiled A Daily Meditation on Shakyamuni Buddha specifically for beginner Buddhist practitioners to use as the basis of a formal meditation practice. Drawn from Phabongkha Rinpoche’s Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand, for each of the objects of refuge – Guru, Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha – there are visualisations for purifying negative karma, increasing qualities, and coming under the guidance of that object of refuge. buddhist tantra melbourne
