Basic Study

Basic Study for Students

You’ve been practising for a little while and now there’s a voice from inside saying ‘I want learn more about yoga.’

Phoenix has a number of courses, workshops and study programs to develop your knowledge and experience of yoga. These make up our ‘Basic Study for Students’ program. You can take just one or slowly make your way through them all.

As you continue through the program you will also develop a relationship with other students and your teacher – a very important step in further study. This is known as ‘sangha’ – the community of like minded individuals on the spiritual path.

Create a deeper connection within yourself and with others around you.

Further Studies at Phoenix

Here is a list of the studies you can make your way through. They are categorised to give you an idea of how to approach your personal yogic training.

If you are unsure where to start, or what to do next, please contact Sanjay for a one-to-one consultation.

Moving meditation is a way to break free of these constraints and voice our personality through free-form dance.

This is a vital step in the process of discovering your true nature. Join us on the last Friday of each month.

Level 2 Mindful Thinking

Mindful Thinking covers 9 topics in the Mahayana Buddhist Lam-Rim teachings. We learn how to direct our mind in a positive way and develop a deeper understanding of the nature of things and how they inter-relate.

The type of meditation we use here is called ‘analytical meditation.’ Our brain has a natural tendency to think. In this course we use that natural thinking habit and simply redirect it in a way that serves us better.

Most participants complete this course twice.
